After being baptized in Jesus Name at 9 Years Old and expressing interest in working in Children’s Ministry as an early teen, a Youth Leader took Wayne to Columbus to see a large Children’s Rally where the evangelist used pyrotechnics to teach a message on forgiveness.  Many years later, Wayne had the opportunity to minister in Children’s Ministry for the first time after his wife became a leader of that ministry at the church they attended.  After teaching a lesson straight from the curriculum that first time and not receiving response from the Children, he looked back on that what ministered to him as a kid and remembered the impressive object lesson at the Children’s Rally he attended as a young teen.  He began to implement Illusions, Special Effects, Interactive Scientific Experiments, and Balloon Animals as he continued teaching in Children’s Ministry at that church as well as at Christian Life Center.  After being invited to the Ohio District Children’s Ministry conference by John Wilson in April 2023, he felt a call to Children’s Evangelism after noticing a session on Becoming a Children’s Evangelist by Wil Rowland on the agenda.  He met with Christian Life Center Children’s Pastor, John Wilson, and CLC Senior Pastor, Pastor Michael Ensey, after that conference to seek their blessing and guidance.  Since that time, he has been a dorm dad at the 2023 and 2024 Ohio District Explorer Camp, ministered as part of John’s team at a couple of Children’s Rally’s, increased his involvement in Children’s Ministry at the local church, coached JBQ Bible Quizzing for the 2024 & 2025 seasons, and completed all of the required reading for the UPCI Local License.
